In this Universe, You are loved
I’m too short. I’m too tall. I’m not as skinny as her. I can’t sing like she can. She’s so pretty, I wish I looked like that. These are all thoughts that go through our minds everyday. These thoughts are lies, fed to you from the devil himself. These thoughts go against the truths that God reminds you of in His word.
In Proverbs, God tells us what a woman of God is. “She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong” (Proverbs 31: 17). God created Eve because Adam needed a helper. God created women, because He needed strong humans to help populate the earth.
Now, this isn’t a post to put down men. I am simply recognizing that men and women were created different for different physical purposes. However, He created each and every one of us with the purpose to glorify Him in everything we do. He knew you “Before [He] formed you in the womb” (Jeremiah 1:5). God designed each individual in His own image. He didn’t do that with any other creatures He created.
Last night I was sitting down with my mom, reading about a black hole swallowing a star. I made a comment about how massive and cool space is and my mom said that is what makes space scary. I sat there for a moment before realizing, space is incredible. The universe was created on the First Day. No matter how long the universe has been around, there’s still so little we know about it. However, the same God who created this incredible universe knew you and formed every inmost part of your being.
I think of the cheesy Pinterest post of “the God who created the universe looked at the world and thought it needed one of you too.” However cheesy that may be, there is still so much truth in it. God created you for a purpose. He wanted you. He desires for you to love Him. He will keep chasing after you until you finally fall in love with Him, and even then, He will keep pursuing you. His love for you is infinite, it will never end.
So no matter the lies that Satan tries to feed you, no matter what is holding you back, God wants to break you away from what’s holding you back. He wants to remind you of his constant and never ending love. So this is my reminder to you today. The same God who created the constellations created you and loved you before you even took your first breath.
